Handy Cami(lle)

A week or two ago Camille helped Mike put together the changing table for baby sister's room. I was impressed by her ability to actually tighten the bolts. She would even turn it in the right direction without help. She never ceases to amaze me.

Note: Don't ever call her Cami. I don't like that nickname, and I can't think of her as anything but Camille. I just thought it made a fun title for the post.

Camille's Favorite Joke

Camille made up a knock-knock joke, and she tells it all the time. I'm impressed that she came up with it herself since she is only two.

Camille: Knock knock.
Me: Who's there?
Camille: Snow White
Me: Snow White who?
Camille: Snow White chicken head.

Okay, so it doesn't make any sense at all. But I still think it's pretty good for a two year old. Mike told it to our primary class of six year-olds, and they thought it was hilarious. We think it's pretty funny too.

Pregnancy Update

Wow! This is our 100th post on the blog. Crazy, especially since I don't post near as much as I would like to.

Anyway, I just wanted to give an update on this pregnancy. Yes, I know it's almost over. But for those who are interested, here goes.

First of all, I am planning a VBAC. I have an awesome doctor who is very supportive of them. Their practice has a 70-80% success rate. (Which, by the way, ends up being a lower c-section rate for VBAC attempting moms at their practice than the national rate of 34% c-sections for first time moms.) I'm really excited to think that I might have better odds of avoiding a c-section this time than last time.

My doctor will let me go over due. And he is willing to try non-pitocin methods to induce labor if I get to 41-42 weeks, such as inserting a Foley bulb catheter into the cervix. Let's just all pray I don't get to that point. I was induced last time, and it didn't work. One of my biggest fears is having another failed induction resulting in a c-section. Hopefully, I will just go into labor on my own this time.

I had another ultrasound at about 33 weeks. I won't go into details, but basically there was a little bit of concern that I might have placenta accreta after my 20 week ultrasound. This can result in the need for a hysterectomy. Long story short, the placenta had moved up by the 33 week ultrasound. Baby is still doing great, and I don't need to worry about having a hysterectomy at the age of 23.

Well, that's all that is really going on with this pregnancy. I am now just playing the waiting game and hoping everyday that I go into labor now that the baby is full term.

By the way, we still haven't chosen a name. We will do that once we meet our little girl. So any last minute suggestions are welcome. :)

Strongest Toddler in the Land

Last night before we put Camille in bed, I was lifting weights a little bit. I turned around to find this...

Yes, Camille is holding a 10 pound weight. She only weighs 30 pounds herself. I was completely surprised when I saw her holding that weight, and seemingly effortlessly. Here's what was said when I saw her.

Me: Woah! Camille, isn't that heavy?
Camille: Yes, because it's stronger than me.

I love having a two year-old. She says and does so many funny things. I hope this makes everyone's day, just like it made mine.

Fun Idea

Camille loves to drink the milk out of her bowl of cereal in the morning. She usually does a really good job not spilling too. But yesterday she was using a bowl with a wide edge all the way around, making it difficult to drink the milk without spilling. Then I had a great idea...

Just put a straw in that bowl and drink away. Camille thought it was fun, and I didn't have milk spilled everywhere.

Accepted!

Just a little announcement...Today Mike got an acceptance letter to the PhD program he applied to! So I guess in a few years we can all call him Dr. Mike.

Congratulations Mike! I'm so proud of you! Thanks for working so hard and taking care of our family!

End Of Year Family Photos

Last night we took a few end of year photos. These were our favorites.

Ok, truth is, Sarah went to shower this morning so Camille and I had some play time. So, me being the computer geek I am, decided I'd try to turn her to the dark side. So we had a little fun on the computer!
