A Day in Our Life with Camille

This is just a random post of some of the things Camille has done lately that I want to remember.

  • A couple weeks ago, I went to run an errand. When I got home, Mike was doing dishes and Camille was back in our bedroom. She had put on one of my bras and was patting the cups. Then she started saying, "I'm wearing a swimsuit." (She thinks anything with skinny straps, such as a spaghetti strap undershirt, is a swimsuit.) Mike and I had a good laugh.
  • Lately, Camille just wants to run around naked. She is constantly taking off her clothes, and we fight to get them back on her. I always check on Camille before Mike and I go to bed. One night last week, I went to check on her and it looked like she didn't have any pants on. This isn't unusual; she frequently takes her pants off before falling asleep. But then I thought, "It doesn't look like she has a diaper on." (She was mostly covered up with a blanket.) I lifted the blanket up a little bit, and immediately I had to keep myself from laughing too loud. Camille was completely naked. No pants, no diaper, no shirt. Silly kid! Luckily she hadn't wet the bed.
  • A week or so ago Mike asked Camille if she was poopy. She said no...she always does. Then Mike asked Camille if he should check her diaper. Camille said, "No! It's my poop!"
  • Last night for our Family Home Evening activity, Mike decided we would pretend to be different animals and have Camille guess which ones we were. Camille loved it. My favorite part was when we let her have a turn. We didn't give her any guidance except to pretend to be an animal. She started hopping around crouched down like a frog and oinking like a pig. We couldn't stop laughing!
  • Last night also, Mike told Camille to give me kisses. Usually, she will come up and give me a kiss on the cheek. Instead, she comes up and kisses me right on the lips and immediately after starts rubbing her slobbery lips back and forth on my nose. It was pretty funny.
  • This last one isn't funny. I just thought it was cute. Tonight Camille asked, "Where is Heavenly Father's house?" I just love when she asks questions like that. It makes it so easy to teach her about Jesus and things like that when she asks a question and waits to hear the answer.

We are so thankful for Camille and for all the joy that she brings us. I'm glad she keeps us laughing and is a constant reminder to me of what is important in life. We love you Camille!

Camille is 2!

Camille turned two years old last week! It's crazy to think that she has been a part of our family that long. She is getting so smart, is learning to use the potty, and is such a happy kid. We love you Camille!

For her birthday, we made cupcakes and invited all the neighbor kids to come sing happy birthday and have some.

This is Cameron and Camille. They have the same birthday, but Cameron is two years older. We sang to both of them. I hope Cameron didn't mind the pink cupcakes.

Here is Camille trying to blow out the candles.

We also took Camille to see Toy Story 3 for her birthday. This was her first time going to a movie theater, and she did great! She sat through the whole movie, and on the drive home she said she wanted to watch it again. Camille had a great second birthday.

Yellowstone

Last week we decided we needed a vacation. Things have been moving very slowly getting my paperwork from Wright-Patterson AFB so that I can start work. We decided it was time for a break, so Thursday we headed north for a stay in Idaho. We decided to stay in Idaho Falls and make a day trip on Friday to Yellowstone. Since we had lived in Idaho Falls for a few months after we were first married, we were also able to make a good time out of our stay there.

We took some good pictures inside the park, so enjoy:
