Trips, Interviews, and Tricks

I just got back after almost a week of being out interviewing for jobs and seeing some of the country. On Tuesday morning I left for Rome, NY. I had to fly into Syracuse and then drive an hour to get to Rome. My interview there was with AFRL/RI (Air Force Research Lab, Information Directorate). It sounds like a great place to work, lots of cool research and projects. At the end they told me they'd be sending a job offer in the mail (hurray!).

On Saturday, I got up early and drove to Palmyra, NY (about 2 hours away). Here are some pictures from the Sacred Grove.

From there, I went over to the Hill Cumorah.

Then I drove back to Syracuse and caught a plane to Dayton, OH where I had interviews scheduled with AFRL/711HPW (Human Performance Wing) and AFRL/RY (Sensors Directorate). These interviews both went well, so I have offers in Rome and in Dayton. Now the hard part, deciding where to go.

I arrived home on Tuesday, and it sure was nice to be back. Camille even showed me a new trick.

Easter!

This was the first year that we had an Easter egg hunt for Camille. Since we don't have a yard, and we live in a tiny apartment, we thought it would be fun to do the Easter egg hunt at Mike's grandparents' house. They gladly allowed us to. So we drove up to their house the day before Easter. We watched the morning session of General Conference. Then Mike and his grandpa hid the eggs in the backyard, and Camille got to hunt for them all by herself. She didn't really know what to do at first. But once she got the hang of it she had a blast. Here are some pictures from the hunt.

Did you notice how she's wearing her winter coat and boots? Well, it had been snowy those couple days before Easter. The snow in Mike's grandparents' backyard had actually all melted (...obviously), but it was still pretty chilly.
