Oh I looked out the window...

and what did I see? A ton of deer. Yes, that's right. This morning Sarah looked out and saw a few deer. Then more started to come. Our final count was 11 deer. Just to give you an idea of how close they really were, here are some pictures.

The only problem now is, Sarah started telling Camille that they were her pet deer. I just hope Camille doesn't decide to invite them in. :)

BCS Legislation?

With my current alma mater winning the Sugar Bowl, finishing the season undefeated and ending the season ranked number two behind a team with a less than perfect record, I can understand all the complaining going on about the BCS. What I don't understand is government intervention into something as silly as this. The Utah state Attorney General has announced an investigation into whether the BCS system creates an unfair monopoly, a Texas congressman has introduced the College Football Playoff Act of 2008 and President-Elect Obama has voiced his opinion on more than one occasion. Is this what we as Americans have come to? When we feel something isn't right we require the government and lawsuits to fix the "problem?"

If Americans disagree with the BCS, they should do the one thing in their power to change it. Stop watching the BCS bowl games. Boycott all things BCS. The only reason the BCS continues to exist is because of the money they make each year. Take that away and the system will be forced to change. We don't need the government sticking its fingers in some other aspect of our lives; we can fix this one on our own if we really want.

I think what really annoys me about mixing government/politics with the BCS is the money and time spent on it. In case everyone hasn't noticed, we have much bigger fish to fry than the unfairness in college football national championships. Hasn't anyone seen the stock-market recently?

So please, everyone, write to your representatives and tell them to stop!
